Mother's Day Worship

Today was both the Sixth Sunday of Easter and Mother's Day. Led by organist Ann Doersam, we sang Praise to the Lord, the Almighty ("then to thy need God as a mother doth speed") and Now Thank We All Our God ("who from our mothers' arms hath blessed us on our way"). Jenny Gilles blessed us with a solo rendition of Love Lifted Me. The message was on the appointed gospel reading, John 15:9-17. There were flowers for the women to pick up before church, and the kids handed out Mother's Day gifts as people left the sanctuary. Steve Moore was presiding elder and Bill Arotin the videographer.
